Dr. Raymond Venneker has been part of the IHE Delft Hydrology and Water Resources Core staff since 1997. His roles include lecturing, supervising MSc students and PhD fellows, conducting applied research, and project execution. He served as coordinator for the Hydrology and Water Resources MSc programme and was seconded to Birzeit University (West Bank, Palestine) as resident advisor for the WASCAPAL project from 1999 to early 2001.
His research focuses on hydrological modelling of large river basins, particularly the role of land surface processes in the hydrological cycle. Notable projects include co-developing a large-scale hydrological model for the Yellow River in China (funded by Dutch and Chinese governments, completed in 2009) and advancing the LSM-A code suite for land surface hydrology studies in Malaysia and China.
No specific awards or grants are explicitly listed, though his work demonstrates significant contributions to international water resource projects. His advising activities are tied to MSc and PhD supervision without named advisees provided here.
