About
Raymond Pottelette is a Researcher and former member of the Plasma Physics Laboratory (LPP), a joint research unit (UMR7648) affiliated with Ecole Polytechnique and Sorbonne University. He was part of the 'Space Plasmas' team and held the position of Research Director at LPP. His work focused on plasma turbulence in the Heliosphere, particularly on mechanisms driving charged particle acceleration and associated electromagnetic radiation generation. He analyzed high-resolution in-situ data from space missions like FAST and CLUSTER to study small-scale plasma processes and nonlinear structures.
Raymond advised two notable students: Nicolas Dubuloz (CNRS entry in 1992) and Mathieu Berthomier (CNRS entry in 2002). His research also explored tools for processing spatial data and offered internship/thesis topics on nonlinear structures in magnetized plasmas. He was based at the LPP's UPMC office (Corridor 24-34, Room 426) and maintained a professional connection with Sorbonne University's Pierre & Marie Curie Campus.
