Ray Bahado-Singh, M.D., is the Chair of Obstetrics and Gynecology at Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine. Previously, he served as Professor and Associate Chairman at Wayne State University/Detroit Medical Center Hutzel Women’s Hospital, where he directed the Obstetric Ultrasound, Center for Fetal Diagnosis and Therapy, Perinatal Genetics, and Maternal-Fetal Medicine divisions. He has also held leadership roles at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and the Perinatology Research Branch of the NICHD.
- Education: Medical degree from University of West Indies, Kingston, Jamaica; OB-GYN residency at New York Medical College / Metropolitan Hospital Center.
Research Interests: Focus on prenatal prediction of fetal Down syndrome, first-trimester screening for congenital heart defects, and early prediction of pediatric brain disorders. Collaborative work includes NICHD-funded trials on twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.
Clinical and Academic Roles: Active researcher with nearly 100 publications on women’s health, including book chapters and scientific abstracts.
