Raul Ramirez

Raul Ramirez is currently the Division Director of the Natural History Museum and Botanical Garden at the University of Agder (UiA), Norway. His career spans roles in research, curation, and academic leadership across multiple institutions.

• Ph.D. in Parasitology (2015) - Natural History Museum, University of Oslo

His research focuses on parasitology, particularly the pathogenicity of Gyrodactylus salaris in salmonid hosts, alongside biodiversity studies. He has curated collections for parasitic insects (Phthiraptera & Thysanoptera), Coleoptera, and herpetology. His professional background includes leadership as Deputy Head at the University of Oslo and curatorial roles at museums in Norway and Costa Rica.
