Raphael Sam

Raphael Sam is Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations at the University of Westminster, affiliated with the Centre for the Study of Democracy. His research investigates state violence through two interconnected frameworks: analysis of US-led military interventions sustaining global power structures, and examination of covert national security operations violating human rights.

He directs The Rendition Project (ESRC-funded), an internationally recognized investigation revealing operational details of CIA extraordinary rendition and torture programs. This open-source research collaboration with human rights organizations has produced peer-reviewed publications and public educational resources documenting post-9/11 human rights violations.
