Randall S. Hanson

Randall S. Hanson is an Academic Dean & Professor at Colby-Sawyer College's School of Business & Social Sciences. He joined the faculty in 1996 and specializes in Latin American history, U.S. diplomatic history, and gender studies in the Americas.

• Education: B.A. from Washington University, St. Louis; M.A. and Ph.D. from Indiana University, Bloomington

His research focuses on modern Latin American history, particularly Mexican and Brazilian contexts, alongside U.S. diplomatic history and the role of religion in the Americas. He has presented extensively on topics ranging from the Catholic Church in Mexico to Latin American women's studies.

As Academic Dean, he combines administrative leadership with teaching courses on modern Mexico, U.S. history, the 1960s era, and revolutionary movements.
