Randall J Bass

Randy Bass serves as Vice President for Strategic Education Initiatives and Professor of English at Georgetown University, leading the Designing the Future(s) initiative and Red House incubator for curricular transformation. Previously, he spent 13 years as Founding Executive Director of Georgetown's Center for New Designs in Learning and Scholarship (CNDLS) and seven years as Vice Provost for Education.

His academic credentials include a Ph.D. and M.A. from Brown University and a B.A. from Pacific University.

Bass operates at the intersection of new media technologies and the scholarship of teaching and learning, with research spanning educational technology, liberal education reform, and curriculum innovation. His pioneering work includes the American Studies Crossroads Project (first Web-based FIPSE-funded initiative) and the Visible Knowledge Project examining technology's impact on humanities education across 21 institutions.
