Dr. Randall Fowler is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Communication and Sociology at Abilene Christian University. He earned his PhD in Communication from the University of Maryland, College Park (2022), an MA in Communication from Baylor University (2016), and a BA in Communication from Baylor University (2012). His academic work focuses on political communication, presidential rhetoric, and Middle Eastern political discourse, with particular emphasis on metaphor analysis and historical rhetoric.
Fowler's research examines how political leaders use rhetorical strategies to frame international conflicts and domestic policies. His publications include analyses of U.S. interventions in the Persian Gulf, Cold War-to-War on Terror metaphorical linkages, and the role of digital media in modern political movements. His recent work explores the intersection of social media and political polarization, as well as how rentierism explains Big Tech dynamics.
