Randall Balmer is the John Phillips Professor of Religion at Dartmouth College, holding Dartmouth's oldest endowed professorship. An Episcopal priest and award-winning historian, he specializes in American religious history, evangelicalism, religion-politics interactions, and sports/religion connections.
His research examines the historical development of evangelicalism, church-state relations, and the intersection of faith with American culture. Balmer has authored over a dozen books including 'Evangelicalism in America' and 'Thy Kingdom Come', and produced acclaimed documentaries for PBS.
