Ran Shao is an Associate Professor of Economics at Yeshiva University, located on the Wilf campus. He holds a PhD in Economics from Arizona State University (2011) and a BSc in Mathematics from Fudan University (2004). His research focuses on Mechanism Design, Contract Theory, Search and Matching, and Public Economics. He has also conducted work in Social Choice and the economics of public goods. Dr. Shao teaches courses such as Microeconomics, Contract Theory, and Mathematical Methods for Economists.
His research has explored topics including optimal allocation of public goods, voting mechanisms, and the effects of aging on financial markets. He has published in journals covering economic theory and applied economics. Notable awards include the Barchilon Award for Outstanding Research (ASU, 2009).
