Ran Klein

Ran Klein is an Imaging Physicist at The Ottawa Hospital, Department of Nuclear Medicine, and an Associate Professor at the University of Ottawa, Department of Medicine, with cross-appointments to the Faculty of Engineering. He serves as an Adjunct Professor at Carleton University in the Departments of Physics and Systems and Computer Engineering.

• PhD (2010) and MASc (2005) in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ottawa
• Research focuses on Medical Imaging with emphasis on Image Segmentation, Automatic Lesion Detection, Quantification of Physiologic Function, and Artificial Intelligence in diagnostic workflows
• Developed commercially available software FlowQuant© for myocardial blood flow analysis and Ruby-Fill^TM for automated rubidium-82 infusion

His work spans dynamic PET/SPECT imaging, motion correction algorithms, and predictive modeling for kidney failure and immunosuppressant dosing. Publications demonstrate expertise in quantitative imaging, radiation physics, and clinical implementation of advanced imaging technologies.
