Ramdas Lamb is a Professor in the Department of Religion at the University of Hawai‘i at Mānoa. He specializes in teaching introductory religion courses, contemporary religion and society, fieldwork methodologies, and mysticism. His current research focuses on monastic traditions and religious practices among low castes in central and northern India.
Professor Lamb brings a unique perspective to his work, having lived as a Hindu sadhu (monk) in north India from 1969 to 1978. His scholarly contributions are rooted in ethnographic and historical approaches to South Asian religious traditions.
