Ramaswamy Ramesh

Ram Ramesh is a Professor in the Management Science and Systems department at the School of Management, University at Buffalo, with a PhD from the University at Buffalo and MTech/BTech degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras.

Research Interests: Ramesh's work spans economics of IT, conceptual modeling, database systems, operations/decision analysis, and predictive analytics. His contemporary research focuses on availability-aware cloud computing, service-level contract mechanisms in cloud markets, health information exchanges, and high-performance computing systems using mathematical programming and stochastic optimization.

Funding and Service: Funded by NSF, Google, Samsung, Raytheon, Westinghouse, and U.S. military programs (Army Research Institute, Air Force Office of Scientific Research, Naval Training Systems Center). Serves as area editor for INFORMS Journal on Computing, founding co-editor-in-chief of Information Systems Frontiers, and editorial advisor for SSRN. Held leadership roles as associate dean for research, associate director of the Center for Excellence on Global Enterprise Management, and program director for the dual-degree MS/MBA program in Bangalore.
