Ram L. Ray

Ram L. Ray is a Professor at Prairie View A&M University's College of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources (CAFNR). With over 10 years of academic experience and prior federal engineering work, his expertise spans climate-smart agriculture, hydrology, and carbon sequestration. He holds a PhD in Civil Engineering (University of New Hampshire), an MS in Soil Science (Vrije Universiteit Brussel/Ghent), and a BS in Civil Engineering (Tribhuvan University).

His research focuses on:

• Land-atmosphere interactions and watershed modeling
• Remote sensing/GIS for agricultural water management
• Soil health enhancement and carbon dynamics
• Climate change impact mitigation

Recent publications emphasize climate resilience, including hydrological modeling in Ethiopia (2026), algal solutions for soil carbon (2025), and geospatial monitoring of greenhouse gases. He leads multiple USDA-funded projects on precision agriculture and climate adaptation.
