Ralf Baecker serves as Professor of Experimental Design of New Technologies within the Digital Media department at Bremen University of the Arts' School of Art and Design since 2016. His practice bridges artistic creation with technological experimentation through installations and autonomous systems.
Research focuses on fundamental mechanisms of media/technologies via thought experiments that question digital systems and their socio-political entanglements. His work explores new imaginaries of the mechanical and artificial through radical engineering combining traditional machine logic with alternative perspectives on materials and intelligence.
