Rakesh Modi

Dr Rakesh Modi is a Clinical Senior Research Associate and GP partner at the University of Cambridge's Department of Public Health and Primary Care (PHPC), affiliated with the Primary Care Unit (PCU). He completed his medical degree with distinction at Cambridge and UCL, followed by a Masters in Public Health from LSHTM.

• Key research areas: inequalities, global health, cardiovascular epidemiology, and health data science
• Leadership roles: Founder/Chair of Inequalities Research Network, RCGP Clinical Adviser, and co-investigator on major trials (SAFER, TACTICAL 1)
• Teaching and mentorship: Supervises clinical and non-clinical researchers, lectures on public health and primary care

His work includes international collaborations with Japan, Uganda, and Ghana, alongside active involvement in clinical research and policy development.
