Rajmohan Rajaraman is a Professor and Associate Dean of Faculty Affairs at the College of Computer and Information Science (CCIS) at Northeastern University. His research focuses on algorithms, theoretical computer science, and distributed systems, with a particular emphasis on network optimization, scheduling, and peer-to-peer systems. He has held leadership roles in academic administration and has contributed to significant advancements in algorithmic theory and applied computing.
His research interests span a wide range of topics including online algorithms, graph theory, resource allocation, and dynamic network analysis. Recent work explores foundational AI infrastructure, communication complexity in graph problems, and stability in peer-to-peer networks. Rajaraman has advised numerous PhD students, including current candidates Andisheh Ghasemi, Amanuel Tesfaye, and Omer Wasim.
Rajaraman has been recognized with awards such as the Google Faculty Research Award (2015). His publications reflect a deep engagement with theoretical challenges and practical applications, often bridging the gap between algorithm design and real-world distributed systems.
