Rajesh Kumaraswami

Rajesh Kumaraswami is an Assistant Professor of Clinical Anesthesiology at the Yale School of Medicine, affiliated with Bridgeport Hospital within the Yale New Haven Health System. He holds board certification in Anesthesiology (AB of Anesthesiology, 2005). His professional journey includes roles as a surgeon, anesthesiologist, and administrator in both private practice and academic settings.

Education: MD from India (1996/97), General Surgery internship in Washington, D.C., and Anesthesiology residency at Saint Louis University Hospitals (completed 2004).

Research interests focus on advancing regional anesthesia techniques and perioperative care optimization through ERAS (Enhanced Recovery After Surgery) programs. He has pioneered regional anesthesia initiatives at multiple institutions and actively contributes to medical education through clinical teaching in operating room settings.

Professional leadership includes serving as President and Treasurer of Bridgeport Anesthesia Associates, a private practice group, demonstrating expertise in both clinical and administrative healthcare management.
