Raja Sumayyah Raja Arif

Dr. Raja Sumayyah Raja Arif is a Lecturer in Strategic Communication at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS), within the School of Communication, Faculty of Arts and Human Sciences. She holds a PhD and has held previous academic roles including Sessional Lecturer positions at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), University of Southern Queensland, and research roles at QUT’s School of Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations. Her research focuses on internal communication, strategic employee behaviors, employee engagement, leader-member exchange, and social license to operate (SLO) in organizational contexts. She is an active member of the QUT Centre for Decent Work & Industry and teaches across multiple institutions, including UTS and QUT, in subjects like Branding, Organisational Storytelling, and Public Relations. Her work emphasizes the role of communication in fostering strategic employee attributes and aligning organizational goals with employee understanding and engagement.

Her research outputs include peer-reviewed journal articles and a doctoral thesis, with ongoing projects exploring qualitative and quantitative dimensions of strategic employee behaviors and organizational storytelling. She has presented at conferences such as the International Communication Association (ICA) and contributed to academic reviewing for journals like Public Relations Review and the Journal of Communication Management.
