Rafik Abdelsayed

Rafik Abdelsayed is a Professor of Pathology and Director of Biopsy Services at the Dental College of Georgia (DCG), Augusta University. He holds a joint appointment as an Associate Professor in the School of Medicine's Department of Anatomical and Surgical Pathology. Board-certified in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology since 1991, his expertise spans clinical diagnosis, tumor pathology, and bone biology.

Education: DDS (Indiana University, 1993), MS in Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology (Indiana University, 1990), BDS (Cairo University, 1980). Multiple certifications include licensure in Georgia and fellowship with the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Pathology.

Research focuses on oral cancer, odontogenic tumors, and bone biology. He advises clinicians on biopsy procedures and microscopic diagnoses. Key awards include the 2013 Judson C. Hickey Award and multiple teaching excellence recognitions.
