Raffaele Mauro

Prof. Raffaele Mauro is a Professor of Road, Railway, and Airport Engineering at the University of Trento's Department of Civil, Environmental and Mechanical Engineering (DICAM). He teaches Fundamentals of Road Infrastructure and Road Construction, and formerly served as president of the Italian Society of Road Infrastructure (SIIV).

His research encompasses traffic process modeling, highway geometric design (particularly roundabouts and innovative circular intersections), reliability forecasting for motorway traffic, railway functional design, and quantitative infrastructure planning. Additional expertise includes large-scale infrastructure site characterization and technical-economic feasibility analyses for major transport projects.
