Dr. Raffaele Ciriello is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Sydney, affiliated with the Charles Perkins Centre. His research focuses on compassionate digital innovation, human-AI companionship, Web3 governance, and ethical technology use. He holds a PhD and M.Sc. from the University of Zurich and a B.Sc. from the University of Stuttgart, with prior roles as an Assistant Professor at the IT University of Copenhagen.
His work bridges interdisciplinary inquiry into sociotechnical systems, emphasizing responsible design and governance of emerging technologies like AI companions and blockchain.
