Rafał Bugaj

Rafał Bugaj serves as Assistant Professor and Vice-Dean for Student Affairs at the Faculty of Physiotherapy, University School of Physical Education in Wrocław, within the Department of Fundamentals of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy.

His academic credentials include:

• Master of Physiotherapy (1998), Faculty of Physiotherapy, University School of Physical Education in Wrocław
• Postgraduate pedagogical studies (1999)
• Doctor of Physical Culture Sciences (2010) focusing on Ethical and Social Conditioning of Rehabilitation
• Certified occupational therapy teacher (ENOTHE project, 2012)

His research critically examines ethics frameworks in rehabilitation practices, geriatric comprehensive care models, disability inclusion strategies, and occupational therapy's integration into holistic rehabilitation systems. International fieldwork across Belgium, Netherlands, Slovenia, Finland, Germany, Bulgaria, and Czech Republic informs his cross-cultural perspective on rehabilitation standards.

Bugaj teaches over twenty physiotherapy subjects including three Erasmus+ courses, while supervising the KNOT student research group focused on environmental rehabilitation. He coordinates volunteering initiatives and internship programs that bridge academic training with community practice.

Professional leadership includes Vice-Presidency of the Polish Occupational Therapy Association (since 2016) and prior chairmanship of the National Chamber of Physiotherapists' Ethics Committee (2019-2024). He concurrently serves on the Academy Senate and its Scientific Research Ethics Committee while maintaining external collaborations with University of Wrocław in social work and rehabilitation management education.
