Rachel Wolfendale

Rachel Wolfendale is a Lecturer in Primary Teacher Education at the University of Greenwich since 2019, affiliated with the School of Education within the Faculty of Education, Health and Human Sciences. She holds a Master's in Education (2018) and is pursuing a Doctorate in Education (starting 2019).

Her research and professional interests focus on early years education, parental engagement, teacher training, and supporting new educators' transition to teaching roles. She emphasizes high-quality early years pedagogy and leadership in educational settings.

Rachel has over 12 years of teaching experience, including leadership roles in Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and parental involvement initiatives. She currently oversees strategies to support trainees during their school placements and post-qualification transition, fostering partnerships with schools to sustain mentorship during the Newly Qualified Teacher (NQT) phase.

Previously held roles include Class Teacher (2006–2019) with leadership in parental engagement and early reading, and Early Years Leader at Valley Primary School (2014–2018).
