Rachel Thompson

Rachel Thompson is a Professor of Psychology at Western New England University, where she also serves as Director of the MS Program in Behavior Analysis and the PhD Program. She advises doctoral and Master’s students, particularly those affiliated with local agencies like The New England Center for Children.

Research Interests: Her work focuses on applied behavior analysis, with emphasis on improving educational practices for children with autism through translational research and staff training. Recent projects include emotion identification interventions, choice-making opportunities for students, and optimizing video communication between parents and children in residential settings.

Advising and Teaching: She mentors students in applied research and teaches graduate courses such as Methods of Evaluation, Ethics and Professional Issues, and Developmental Psychology.
