Rachel N. Head

Rachel N. Head, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at The University of Tulsa's Kendall College of Arts & Sciences. She serves as Co-Director of the Tulsa Institute of Trauma, Adversity, and Injustice (TITAN) and as an affiliate of the Fishlinger Center for Public Policy Research at the University of Mount Saint Vincent.

Education:

• Ph.D. in Sociology, North Carolina State University

Research Interests:

• Sociology of mental health
• Racial-ethnic and class inequalities
• Social and structural determinants of health
• Community-based and pedagogical research

Research Focus: Her work explores how community-level and employment-related stressors contribute to depressive symptoms, substance abuse, and suicidality. Her publications appear in journals such as Ethnic and Racial Studies, Society and Mental Health, and Health Promotion Practice.
