Rachel Hellgren

Rachel Hellgren is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Miami University, affiliated with the Emerging Technology in Business and Design department. She has taught at multiple institutions since 2013, including Kent State University, Cleveland State University, and Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management.

Rachel’s expertise spans visual design, strategic design for business, and systems thinking, with a focus on human-centered approaches. Her teaching includes courses on design foundations, typography, environmental design, and senior capstone projects.

She integrates professional experience from design startups and international operations at Good F*cking Design Advice (serving clients like Apple, Nike, and Adobe) into her academic practice. Additionally, she runs a visual design and consulting business, collaborating with Design Issues, a peer-reviewed academic journal.
