Rachel Fox, PA-C, MHS, AAHIVS, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Medicine at Drexel University College of Medicine. She is also a board-certified physician assistant and HIV specialist, practicing at Drexel's Partnership Comprehensive Care Practice. Her roles include clinical preceptorship in the Physician Assistant Department at Drexel University College of Nursing and Health Professions and lecturing for the Health Federation of Philadelphia. She holds a Master of Health Science (MHS) in Physician Assistant Studies from Drexel University and a BS in Biobehavioral Health from Penn State University.
Dr. Fox’s research focuses on HIV prevention strategies for marginalized populations, particularly sex workers and people who use drugs, conducted in the Health Equity Advancement Lab (HEAL) at Drexel’s Dornsife School of Public Health. Her clinical interests include compassionate care for individuals living with HIV/hepatitis C, LGBTQ+/transgender patients, and those impacted by substance use. She advocates for anti-oppressive healthcare practices and health equity.
She has presented at conferences such as the Pennsylvania Association of Community Health Centers and the Collaborative Family Healthcare Association, addressing topics like substance use disorder treatment and harm reduction. Her work extends to community outreach via the Drexel HOPE mobile medical van and Prevention Point. Notable awards include membership in the Alpha Eta National Honor Society of Allied Health Professions.
