Rachel English

Dr. Rachel English is an Associate Professor of Accountancy at the School of Business, University of Leicester, where she has been since January 2022. Previously, she held roles as a Senior Lecturer (2012–2022) and Lecturer (2009–2012) at De Montfort University. Her research focuses on international trade, preferential tariffs, and the underutilization of the Generalised System of Preference, shaped by her professional experience in agricultural accounting and project accounting with Triumph Motorcycles Limited.

Education and qualifications include a MSc and PhD in her research area, complemented by teaching credentials: PG Cert, Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA), and Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA). Professional memberships include Chartered Certified Accountant (FCCA) since 1998 and Fellow of the Association of Accounting Technicians (MAAT) since 1993.
