Rachel Dennett is a Lecturer in Physiotherapy at the School of Health Professions, University of Plymouth (Faculty of Health). She holds a PhD from the University of Plymouth (2021), focusing on physical activity support for individuals with multiple sclerosis (MS). Her clinical expertise spans neurology, with a current role at the South West MS Centre in Exeter. Dr. Dennett leads research in chronic condition management through clinical trials, including the PEER CONNECT feasibility RCT on peer coaching, the VeRMiS Trial comparing vestibular rehabilitation methods for MS patients, and the SUMS Trial evaluating standing frame programs in MS. She contributes to undergraduate and postgraduate physiotherapy education, supervising M-level research modules and a PhD student.
Education: BSc Physiotherapy from the University of Wales College of Medicine (1998), PhD by prior published works from the University of Plymouth (2021).
Research interests emphasize evidence-based interventions to improve mobility and quality of life for people with long-term neurological conditions. Her work bridges clinical practice and translational research, collaborating with NHS Trusts and academic networks.
