Rachel Ashworth

Professor Rachel Ashworth is an expert in Public Services Management at Cardiff Business School, where she recently completed a six-year tenure as Dean. Her research examines organizational and institutional change in the public sector, scrutiny and accountability mechanisms, equality and diversity issues, and public service performance measurement. During her deanship, she guided the school through the COVID-19 pandemic, achieved prestigious AACSB and AMBA accreditations, and maintained REF2021 4* research environment status.

Ashworth champions public value creation across research, teaching, and community engagement. Her work addresses economic and social inequality, decent work, governance, productivity, and sustainability through collaborations with public sector organizations.
