Rachel Allen

Rachel Allen is an Associate Teaching Professor and Assistant Dean for Professional Affairs and Practice at the University of Washington School of Pharmacy, where she focuses on pharmacy education, experiential learning, and student leadership development.

Her research emphasizes the scholarship of teaching and learning, particularly in communication skill development and assessment methodologies within pharmacy education. She co-leads the PY1 Pharmacy Practice Course series and directs the Community Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE) Program.

Rachel’s academic contributions include publications on integrating leadership and entrepreneurial skills into the pharmacy curriculum and aligning laboratory activities with pre-APPE domains. These works reflect her commitment to enhancing practical training and domain-based teaching in pharmacy education.

As Director for the Community IPPE Program and course master for Wednesdays in Practice, she bridges academic training with real-world pharmacy practice. She actively mentors students through skills lab teaching and outreach preceptorships.
