RL Booker Jr.

Dr. RL Booker Jr. is an Assistant Professor of Instruction in the History Department at Texas State University. His research examines social and cultural education, focusing on historical patterns of black male educational achievement and military children's education. Dr. Booker's work analyzes educational disparities through historical and sociological frameworks.

With a PhD in Education Leadership & Policy Studies from the University of Kansas, his scholarship addresses teacher preparation programs, public school systems, and historical educational practices. Dr. Booker has presented research on privatization in public education, black male discipline disparities, and historical trauma in educational contexts at national conferences including the Association for the Study of African American Life and History.
