RB Perelmutter

RB Perelmutter is an Associate Professor of Slavic Languages & Literatures and Director of Jewish Studies at the University of Kansas. They hold a Ph.D. in Slavic Languages and Literatures from UC Berkeley (2008). Their research focuses on morphosyntax, pragmatics, and discourse analysis of Slavic and Jewish languages, including Russian, Hebrew, and Yiddish. Key interests include gendered practices in online discourse, Jewish folklore, and the sociolinguistics of immigrant vernaculars.

Research Interests: Dr. Perelmutter explores how language constructs identity and culture, particularly in gendered online communities. Teaching: Courses on Yiddish language, Slavic morphosyntax, and Jewish folklore. Emphasis on connecting linguistic structures to cultural practices.
