R.L. Hewett

Dr. R.L. (Bex) Hewett is an Associate Professor in the Department of Organisation and Personnel Management at Rotterdam School of Management (RSM), Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her work bridges research and practice through the People, Organisations & Change research group, focusing on designing work that benefits both employees and organizations. She holds multiple leadership roles including Research Lead of the People and Self-Managing Organisations project and Academic Director of ERIM's part-time PhD programme.

Her research examines:

• Self-managing organizational structures
• Work-life boundary management
• Psychological impacts of HR practices

Publications demonstrate consistent focus on motivation mechanisms, with recent work exploring accountability in HR implementation (2024), motivation internalization (2023), and HR co-creation theory (2021).

With 10 years of prior industry experience as Head of HR Operations at Ofcom, she teaches executives in RSM's Beyond HR programme while maintaining active editorial roles at Human Resource Management Review and engagement with the Academy of Management.
