R. Mark Caulkins

R. Mark Caulkins, MD, DPT, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Physician Assistant Studies at Samford University's School of Health Professions. With over 15 years of graduate-level teaching experience, he specializes in anatomy, physiology, pathophysiology, radiology, and pharmacology, serving physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech and language pathology, nurse anesthetist, and biomedical engineering students. Since joining Samford in 2019, Caulkins has integrated clinical expertise from his 20-year career as an orthopedic trauma surgeon at a level-one trauma center into academic training.
