R. John Hansman is the T. Wilson Professor of Aeronautics & Astronautics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and serves as Director of the MIT International Center for Air Transportation. His research focuses on integrating information technology into operational aerospace systems.
He chairs the US Federal Aviation Administration's Research Engineering & Development Advisory Committee (REDAC) and other national/international advisory bodies. A member of the US National Academy of Engineering and Fellow of the AIAA, he holds 6 patents and has accumulated over 6500 hours of pilot in-command time.
