Rüdiger Zymner

Rüdiger Zymner is an Ordinary Member of the Academy of Europe, elected in 2014, affiliated with the School of Literary and Theatrical Studies at the University of Wuppertal, Germany, where he holds the academic rank of Professor of Comparative Literature.

• 1981-1985: Studied Medieval and Modern History and German Philology at Georg-August Universität zu Göttingen
• 1986: Magister Artium
• 1990: PhD from University of Fribourg, Switzerland
• 1993: Habilitation from University of Fribourg, Switzerland, with venia legendi in German Literature and Comparative Literature

His research spans the disciplines of Poetics, Literary Theory, Narratology, and Aesthetics, with a focus on Comparative Literature and Lyricology.
