Quanjun Cui, MD, is the G.J. Wang M.D. Professor and Vice Chair for Research in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia. He completed his medical degree at Henan Medical University (China), followed by residency and fellowship training in Adult Reconstruction at UVA, and an AO fellowship at the University of Bern (Switzerland).
- Board-certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in total hip/knee replacement, osteonecrosis, and computer-aided/minimally invasive surgery.
- Research focuses on cellular/gene therapy for musculoskeletal diseases, bone graft substitutes, osteonecrosis pathogenesis, and antioxidant treatments for osteoarthritis.
Dr. Cui’s work has been funded by the NIH, and he has authored over 140 publications and edited 10 textbooks. He has held leadership roles in national/international orthopaedic societies and served on editorial boards of prestigious journals like the Journal of Arthroplasty and Journal of Bone and Joint Surgery.
