Quachetta Jones

Quachetta Jones is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Social Work at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB), housed within the College of Arts and Sciences. She holds a BSW from UAB and an MSW from the University of Alabama, specializing in Adults and Their Families. Her teaching and research focus on social work values, addiction recovery, evidenced-based practice, and clinical social work.

With 10 years of clinical experience, Jones has worked in medical social work, child protective services, veteran services, mental health, and substance abuse care management. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and founder of Elite Counseling Center in Hoover, AL. Jones also has five years of teaching experience, instructing five courses and mentoring MSW students. Her professional activities include providing psychotherapy and overseeing field education programs for social work students across multiple universities in the Southeast.
