Qiong Zhang is Associate Professor of History at Wake Forest University, specializing in early modern Chinese intellectual history and cross-cultural exchanges. Her award-winning book Making the New World Their Own (2015) analyzes how 17th-century Chinese scholars engaged with Jesuit cosmological concepts.
Current research reconstructs knowledge networks surrounding Bogu (natural history) learning and meteorological traditions in Ming-Qing China. She teaches Chinese history surveys, world civilizations courses, and seminars on traditional Chinese science/medicine. Her 2015 CHUS award recognized groundbreaking work on globalization's intellectual impacts during China's late imperial period.
