Dr. Qin Hu serves as an Associate Professor in the Electrical and Computer Engineering program within the GameAbove College of Engineering & Technology at Eastern Michigan University (EMU), where she has completed five years of service. She additionally coordinates the EMU-Beibu Gulf University (BGU) joint college, which enrolls approximately 170 students across five specialized programs: Computer Engineering Technology (Internet of Things), Mechanical Engineering Technology (Mechanical Engineering and Vehicle Engineering specializations), Construction Management (Project Cost), and Product Design Engineering Technology (Mechanical Design/Manufacture).
Her research agenda focuses on pulsed power applications, bioengineering innovations, and autonomous vehicle systems. Dr. Hu strategically integrates these research domains into classroom instruction through practical examples that stimulate student curiosity, while also leveraging findings for undergraduate research initiatives and senior capstone projects to bridge academic learning with industry readiness.
Dr. Hu maintains strong commitment to student professional development, guiding advisees toward career placements, graduate school admissions, NCEES FE exam success, and future PE licensure. Her institutional objectives include sustaining ABET accreditation for the EECE program, enhancing curriculum quality, expanding enrollment, and actively recruiting women into engineering research opportunities through dedicated mentorship and project involvement.
