Qilin Wang

Qilin Wang is Professor in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Technology Sydney. His research transforms wastewater management through innovations in resource recovery and environmental monitoring.

Key focus areas include energy-positive wastewater treatment technologies, sludge valorization, and wastewater-based epidemiology. Recent work develops predictive models for COVID-19 hospitalizations using wastewater data and sustainable sludge management strategies for BRICS nations. Patented technologies maximize energy recovery while reducing membrane biofouling and pollutant discharge.

Major honors include Eureka Prizes for Environmental and Applied Research, Edgeworth David Medal, and MIT Technology Innovator Under 35 recognition. He leads ARC-funded projects on resource recovery and serves as Chief Scientific Officer for water technology ventures.
