About
Dr. Qian Du is an early-career Research Fellow at the Genomics and Epigenetics Division of the Garvan Institute of Medical Research. Her research focuses on understanding how DNA replication timing influences genome and epigenome organization in breast and prostate cancers. She obtained her BSc (Hons) from the University of Melbourne and PhD from the University of New South Wales.
Her primary research investigates the relationships between DNA replication dynamics and 3D genome architecture, with emphasis on epigenetic modifications like DNA methylation. She employs advanced genomic technologies to study chromatin organization and its implications in oncogenesis.
In 2020, Dr. Du was awarded the prestigious NHMRC Investigator Grant Fellowship to advance her work on replication timing-epigenome interactions. Her research bridges fundamental cancer biology with clinical applications in oncology.
