Päivi Turunen

Päivi Turunen is a Lecturer at the University of Gävle, affiliated with the Sustainable Societies and Communities research group. Her academic focus centers on social work, particularly community development in diverse environments.

Her research explores community work methodologies, social planning strategies, socially sustainable development frameworks, community art initiatives, and ecosocial applications in both urban and rural contexts. Current projects include gender perspectives in community work, practice research methodologies, coastal community ecosocial work, and youth-focused upcycling incubators.
