Puspavathy Rassiah is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Accounting and Finance at Monash University Malaysia, School of Business. She is actively involved in teaching, research, and professional engagement, with a strong focus on sustainability, corporate governance, and accounting education. Her work aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly in responsible management and environmental stewardship.
Her research interests center on Management Accounting, Financial Accounting, Corporate Governance, Environmental Management, and Sustainability. She explores how firms, particularly in the hospitality sector, implement sustainable practices and how governance structures influence ethical and environmental outcomes. Her pedagogical interests include innovative teaching methods to enhance student engagement and job readiness in accounting.
The recent publications reflect a strong interdisciplinary trend, combining accounting, sustainability, environmental management, and public policy. Her work spans empirical studies on Malaysian hotels, water infrastructure, and anti-corruption frameworks, often in collaboration with industry and UN bodies. There is a consistent focus on practical impact, policy relevance, and educational innovation.
