Puneeta Tandon

Puneeta Tandon serves as Associate Professor of Medicine at the University of Alberta's Division of Gastroenterology and Liver Unit, where she holds multiple leadership roles including Co-Director of the Cirrhosis Care Clinic, Transplant Hepatologist, and lead of the Cirrhosis Care Alberta quality improvement program.

Her educational training spans the University of Alberta, Hospital Clinic in Barcelona, and Yale University. Dr. Tandon's research focuses on advancing cirrhosis management through investigation of complications, malnutrition, frailty, and exercise therapy, while pioneering integrative approaches including meditation and palliative care within hepatology.

She champions holistic, interdisciplinary patient-centered care through the Cirrhosis Care Alberta initiative, emphasizing evidence-based practice, patient empowerment, and knowledge translation across clinical settings. Her work directly impacts quality improvement for cirrhosis patients throughout Alberta's healthcare system.
