Pui Shan (Fiona) Hui is a Clinical Assistant Professor at New York University's College of Arts & Science, Department of Liberal Studies. She holds an M.A. in Voice Performance from NYU's Steinhardt School and a Teaching Certificate in Chinese to Speakers of Foreign Languages from Columbia University's Teaching College. She is a certified Cantonese tester with the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages/Language Testing International and member of Actor's Equity Association.
Her research focuses on Cantonese education methodologies, second language acquisition frameworks, and assessment design. She has collaborated with governmental agencies (King’s County District Attorney) and corporations (Walt Disney Company) on language proficiency evaluations and artistic projects. Previously a professional performer in music theatre, she also serves as a voice/diction coach, vocalist, and casting agent.
