Prodosh E. Simlai is a Professor and Department Chair of Economics and Finance at the Nistler College of Business and Public Administration, University of North Dakota. He holds a PhD and MS from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and has been a tenure-track faculty member since 2007, achieving full professorship in 2017. His academic leadership includes serving as Director of Research and active participation in university-wide curriculum and assessment committees.
His research focuses on Financial Markets, Investments, Real Estate, and Econometrics, with a strong emphasis on risk modeling, asset pricing, and the application of machine learning to financial and housing data. He has published extensively in top-tier finance and economics journals, exploring themes such as ESG risk, REIT returns, accrual mispricing, and spatial modeling in real estate.
His recent publications (2021–2025) highlight a clear trend toward integrating advanced quantitative methods—particularly machine learning and time-series econometrics—into traditional finance problems.
