Probert Philomen is a University Lecturer in Classical Philology and Linguistics at the University of Oxford and a Fellow of Wolfson College, Oxford. He holds a D.Phil. in Comparative Philology from Oxford (supervised by Anna Morpurgo Davies) and has held significant fellowships, including the AHRC Leadership Fellowship (2015–2017) and a British Academy Mid-Career Fellowship (2012). His research focuses on linguistic theory, prosody, Indo-European historical linguistics, and ancient Greek and Latin grammarians.
